Gerard Heath Lander〔The Times, 5 June 1907; p. 6; Issue 38351; col C ''University Intelligence June 4''〕 (sometimes Gerald; sometimes Heath-Lander; 14 August 1861 – 14 November 1934) was an Anglican bishop.〔(Archives )〕 He was born on 14 August 1861〔“Who was Who” 1897–1990 London, A & C Black 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 and educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was ordained in 1885〔''Ordinations. Liverpool'' The Times Thursday, Dec 24, 1885; pg. 3; Issue 31638; col B〕 and initially served as a Curate at St Bride, Liverpool.〔"The Clergy List, Clerical Guide and Ecclesiastical Directory" London, Hamilton & Co 1889〕 He then held incumbencies at St Benedict, Everton, St Philip, Litherland 〔The Times, Thursday, Nov 26, 1896; pg. 8; Issue 35058; col C ''Ecclesiastical Intelligence''〕 and St Cyprian, Liverpool before being elevated to the Episcopate in 1907 as the fifth Bishop of Victoria, Hong Kong,〔''Ecclesiastical Intelligence'' The Times Monday, Jul 01, 1907; pg. 10; Issue 38373; col E〕 a post he held for 13 years. On his return to England he was Vicar of Holy Trinity, New Barnet, Archdeacon of Bedford and an assistant bishop in the Diocese of St Albans until his retirement in 1933.
